Hyperreal Internet

The internet functions as a hyperreal tool that people use as a temporary mode of escapism. Popular websites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Youtube, Livejournal, Pornhub and Second Life are constructed to fulfill (at times, over fulfill) our psychological and emotional needs. These websites offer a community, connectivity and complete control over everything we do and occasionally provide us with more pleasure than what we experience in reality.

In its reality, these websites are html coding that translates the website into the visual that we see on our screens. A 2.5m long poster, filled with these codes, was printed, and then key words were found one by one in their website's coding—words that suggest that these websites are constructed to fulfill our psychological and emotional needs, thereby becoming a somewhat comforting mode of a hyperreal escapism.
